These requirements will help candidates choose the appropriate subjects for their preferred courses.
Various Importance of Choosing the Correct JAMB Subject Combination for the 2027 UTME
- Choosing the appropriate JAMB subject combination is an essential step towards securing admission into a Nigerian university or other tertiary institution.

Important Tips for Choosing the Right JAMB Subject Combination for Your Course in 2027 UTME Registration
Below are useful tips and guide you should note before registering any subject for your course during the JAMB UTME 2027 registration:
- Understand Your Course Requirements: Every course has specific JAMB subject combinations and admission requirements. Check the approved requirements for your intended programme before registering.
- Avoid Errors During UTME Registration: Carefully select your four UTME subjects to ensure they match the requirements of your preferred course and institution.
- Consult the Official JAMB Brochure: Review the latest JAMB brochure for the 2027/2028 admission cycle to confirm the required subjects, O’Level credits, and other admission conditions.
- Choose Subjects Relevant to Your Career Goals: Your three subjects apart from Use of English should align with your chosen field of study, whether it is Medicine, Law, Engineering, Accounting, Education, or another programme.
- Confirm Your Institution’s Requirements: Some universities and other tertiary institutions may have additional admission conditions. Check the requirements of your preferred institution before completing your registration.
- Check Your O’Level Subject Requirements: Ensure that your WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB results contain the required subjects and credits for your intended course.
- Do Not Rely on Assumptions: Do not choose subjects simply because they are commonly associated with a course. Verify the exact combination required for your programme using the official JAMB brochure.
- Understand UTME and Direct Entry Requirements: If you are applying through Direct Entry (DE), check the required qualifications, relevant A-Level subjects, diploma results, or other accepted credentials for your chosen course.
- Verify Before Submitting Your Form: Review your subject selections and personal details carefully before finalising your JAMB registration. Correcting errors later may be difficult or subject to additional procedures.
- Prepare Early for Your Examination: Once you have confirmed your subject combination, begin studying the relevant JAMB syllabus and practising past questions for all four subjects.
- Keep Up with Official Admission Updates: Follow announcements from JAMB and your preferred institution to stay informed about changes to admission requirements, registration procedures, and deadlines.
